Effect of Color on Behavior

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

Are you planning to repaint your house? Psychologists believes that colors has effect on behavior. According to Maria Simonson, Ph.D., Sc.D., a behaviorist, the color you pick for a room will have some sort of effect on its occupants. In fact, it has been found out that kids learn better in brightly colored rooms.

So, if you want to have a relaxing dinning room and you are staying in cool climates, better paint your dining room with off-white, tan, pale gold or beige color. And, if you are staying in a warmer climate, better paint your it with cool blue or green color. But, if you want your family’s appetite especially kids’ appetite to be stimulated better paint it with warm colors like yellow, orange or red.
If you want to have a good night sleep or an optimal sleeping conditions, pale pink, mauve and lavender colors are great for cooler climates. Pale blue, pale green and beige are good relaxing colors for those with hot climates. If you are suffering from lack of sleep, why not repaint your room?
Color your rooms to make it more homey to the occupants than just an ordinary room because color could greatly affect one’s behavior.

Friday, July 24th, 2009

meg

Well you might feel bored since most of recent photos are all in color, you need to sketch by drawing pencil but it takes too much time then just follow and try this step by step tutorial, this will help you to turn any color photos into pencil sketch in few minutes. Here are the following tutorials:

  1. First change the Image Mode to RGB.
  2. Copy the Background by dragging it to the new layer icon.
  3. For a color photo, Desaturate it. Image>Adjust>Desaturate.
  4. This turn the copy into a grayscale layer, pulling the color out of it. Drag this layer to the new layer icon.
  5. Press Command I or Control I  to Invert the colors. It will look like a negative.
  6. At this layer change Blending Mode to Color Dodge. It will look mostly white.
  7. You can use any ONE of the following filters on this layer to bring in the sketch look. Play with the settings and angles where applicable. Be sure to push the settings and observe the results of different amounts.
Filters: Blur> Gaussian, or Blur> Motion Blur, Blur> Radial Blur, or Noise>Median, or Noise>Dust & Scratches.
  8. Ît is on this “Color Dodge” layer that you can darken or lighten the graphite look by using either black or white with a pressure sensitive airbrush tool. For graphite pens, set the brush dynamics pressure to stylus. For the mouse, lower the brush opacity in the top options bar.Use a large soft edge brush to add or subtract the amount lights, mids and darks in the sketch.
  9. To create the grain of graphite you must create a Pattern Fill layer on top of the Color Dodge Layer.
Click the new adjustment layer icon at the bottom of the Layers palette and select Pattern. Click on the downward arrow of the pattern preview window box; Select the flyout triangle (inside of the circle on the upper right) from the drop down palette and load or select Patterns2.pat.You are looking for the Stucco pattern. You may want to view the patterns with a “list” so change this option for viewing under the pattern flyout triangle, as well.
  10. Once you select the Stucco pattern, your screen will look grainy and gray. In the Layers palette change the blending mode for the pattern fill layer to Overlay and adjust opacity if necessary.
  11. You can change the scale of the pattern if needed, just double clicking on the pattern thumbnail on the layer. The pattern fill box will open and you can slide the scale up or down, experiment by choosing other patterns, it’s editable.
  12. Now your image should look like a drawing.
